How To Replace a Band Saw Tire? 1. Unplug the band saw, loosen the saw blade tension and remove the blade. Then remove the band saw wheel. 2. Once removed, completely remove or cut the old tire and any residue left behind. 3. Slide part of the tire onto the wheel rim, then insert a short rod or pipe between the tire and wheel. Roll the pipe around the rim once to equalize the tire's elasticity. 4. Apply a small amount of glue to a brush and spread it on the tire and wheel surface. Roll and repeat all the way around the rim.
