Electro Magnetic Fields (EMF) emissions are created whenever electrical power flows through a wire, conductor, or appliance. They cannot be seen, felt, or heard, but they are present in and around all electric lines and devices. EMF emissions are measured in units called milliGauss (mG). The strength of the EMF can vary and is measurable using this K-II EMF Meter. EMF emissions are recognized as an environmental factor. Some scientific studies have explored potential biological effects associated with EMF exposure. People are exposed to EMF at home, in the workplace, and outdoors on a daily basis. Many studies indicate that the relationship between field strength and health effects involves multiple factors, making it difficult to establish definitive safety thresholds based solely on field strength. While the U.S. government has not established official safety limits, other countries and various states have set exposure guidelines based on field strength. In general, a range of 2 to 3 milliGauss is considered by some as a reasonable target for continuous exposure. The EMF Meter measures magnetic field strength. GREEN LEDs indicate typical background levels, while higher readings are shown by YELLOW, ORANGE, and RED LED displays. To manage exposure, consider practicing prudent avoidance. Measure electrical appliances and devices at home, at work, and while traveling, and record results in the included Exposure Log. Try to minimize time near sources that produce YELLOW, ORANGE, or RED readings by maintaining distance to stay within the GREEN range. Rearranging furniture or appliances, or using timers to limit operation time, may help reduce exposure. Regularly monitor EMF sources in your home, workplace, or schools, as field levels can change over time due to appliance aging or malfunction.
