Juglans regia 'Fernor', Walnut tree, Height 100cm, 5-liter pot.

The Juglans regia 'Fernor' is a modern French walnut tree known for its excellent nut quality, late flowering, and high yield. Thanks to this late flowering, it is particularly suitable for cooler climates such as the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, where spring night frosts can often cause damage. This healthy, self-pollinating walnut produces a rich harvest of large, well-filled nuts with a deliciously mild, aromatic flavor even at a young age. The 'Fernor' grows into a medium-sized tree with a well-branched crown and dark green leaves that turn golden yellow in autumn. The nuts ripen in October and are easy to crack thanks to their thin shell. The kernel is pale, firm, and has a full, slightly sweet flavor — perfect for eating fresh, baking, or drying for long-term storage. Although this tree is self-pollinating, the yield can be further increased by planting a second variety such as Juglans regia 'Franquette' or Juglans regia 'Lara' nearby. Moreover, the 'Fernor' is highly resistant to diseases such as fire blight and tolerates severe winters down to -25°C. For the best start, plant this walnut tree in a sunny, sheltered spot in nutritious, lime-rich soil. Combine it in the garden with our Pistachio tree set (Pistacia vera) for a unique Mediterranean look and an even richer variety of edible nuts. ✔ Strong, productive walnut tree – Juglans regia 'Fernor' ✔ Large, flavorful nuts with thin shells ✔ Late flowering – frost resistant ✔ Self-pollinating, but higher yield with 'Franquette' or 'Fernette' ✔ Compact growth – suitable for gardens and orchards ✔ Very hardy and disease resistant Specifications Pot size: 5 liters Final height: approx. 5–7 meters Flowering period: May (late flowering) Harvest time: October Location: full sun, sheltered Soil type: deep, nutritious, well-draining, slightly calcareous Winter hardiness: down to -25°C Pollination: self-pollinating (recommended: 'Franquette' or 'Fernette') Pruning: winter topiary possible, otherwise low maintenance Origin: France (INRA Bordeaux) With the Juglans regia 'Fernor', you choose a reliable, healthy walnut tree with a rich harvest and excellent taste.
